Benriach Malting Season First Edition, ~9 YO, 48.7 %

Floor malted at the BenRiach distillery in the Autumn of 2012. Matured in ex-bourbon cask and virgin oak casks, made using Concerto barley and bottled 2021. This release is limited to 6672 bottles.

The Benriach Malting Season First Edition goes on sale here in Norway in two days and will sell at NOK 1450 (13804401).

Nose: Ripe berries and creamy, earthy vanilla. Rich maltiness. Sweet cereal.

Taste: Medium body and then some. Rich creamy vanilla again. Fizzy ginger, cinnamon and cardamom.

Finish: Long finish. Rich notes of ripe fruits and berries all the way. Bitter-ish touch of rowan berries towards the end. Medium sweetness.

Comment: Love the maltiness of this dram!
