This is a blended malt from Berry Bros & Rudd, composed of 7 casks (four butts and three hogsheads) from the distilleries Glenlivet, Glen Elgin and Mortlach. The oldest whisky in the mix was 34 years old (source: Ralfy Whisky Review #115).

The Blue Hanger 3rd Limited Release was released back in 2007.

Nose: Cigar and caramel pudding, Cinnamon - dusty and earthy. Fresh apples, yet dusty at the same time. Really refined. Lovely nose. Lighter and more sugary with time

Taste: Very rich, flavour-full and mouth watering. Rich, dark caramel. Cinnamon, maple syrup. Demerara sugar. Dryish in style.

Finish: Long finish. More spicy now, as well as more sugary. Caramel, cinnamon, leather, and hints of oak.

Comment: A true gem of a blended malt.
