Bowmore Vault Edit1°n - First Release

OK, what's up with these silly names of whisky?! I mean Bowmore Vault Edit1°n - First Release? Edit1°n?! Really?! Trying desperately too hard, are we? Is the target audience young millennials, or aging 1337 ('leet') nerds? Hmpf!
Anyways, the subtitle of this dram is Atlantic Sea Salt. It is the first of four planned annual releases that will explore the main characteristics of Bowmore whisky matured in their No.1 Vaults warehouse. The other three releases will explore peat, vanilla and citrus.
You can buy the Bowmore Vault Edit1°n - First Release in Norway at NOK 1000 (6965701), in Sweden at SEK 1009 (8530301), and in the UK at around GBP 95. Fairly similar prices there then...actually most expensive in the UK.
Nose: Wood smoke with a hint of salt. Driftwood and fruity ashes. Quite dry, if that makes sense when describing the nose of a whisky.
Taste: Rough and full-bodied. Wood chips, sawdust, ginger, cinnamon, salt, ashes and toasted oak.
Finish: Medium to short finish. Ashes, oak, salt and dark chocolate now. Keeps getting more and more dry towards the end. A bit watery and metallic on the finish line.
Comments: Well it certainly seems quite salty, so the subtitle is honest and accurate. Other than that it is an OK young whisky with a fair bit of oakiness.
