Brennevinsgrova Double Cask Single Malt Whisky

Brennevinsgrova Double Cask Single Malt Whisky, NAS, 46%

I have no details on this release, and the website for the Brennevinsgrova distillery holds no details either. I am assuming the two cask types involved are ex-bourbon and ex-sherry, possibly ex-PX sherry.

You can procure a bottle of the Brennevinsgrova Double Cask Single Malt Whisky in Norway at NOK 799 (17068802).

Nose: A pleasant blend of dried fruits and orchard fruits, softened by vanilla and light caramel. There's a gentle alcohol nip - just enough to keep it interesting without a full bite. Stays on the rustic side.

Taste: Light to medium body with slightly rough caramel, orchard fruits, and a touch of milk chocolate. Green herbs and a hint of tomato vine add some earthy layers.

Finish: Short finish, with caramel and milk chocolate taking a final bow before fading quickly, leaving things a touch subdued.

Comment: Youthful.
