This single cask release from Bruichladdich Distillery was distilled 2009-07-15. It was matured in an ex-Ribera del Duero cask (cask# 2517), and bottled 2020-01-15. A total of 294 bottles was released for sale.

Nose: Cool and leathery at first. Then deep, sweet wine notes. Fermented grapes and apples. Orchard fruits. Hints of dunnage warehouse. Then intense aroma of freshly squeezed orange juice and orange zest. It’s bursting with citrus. Then a hint of laundry detergent.

Taste: I would say medium body, which is less than expected from this ABV. Dry-ish and a little oaky in character. Caramel, almond paste, marzipan and dried oranges. Hints of laundry detergent again - but not in an offensive way at all.

Finish: Medium to long finish. Even drier now. Some citrus, some oakiness. Chocolate and hint of mint.

Comment: This was fun!
