Ah, finally I get my hands on the latest magic potion from the cauldrons at Bruichladdich; ie. the Black Art. Master Wizard Adam Hannett has created this dram in the dark depths of the warehouses, and has not revealed a single thing about the casks used. Traditionally there has often been at least some wine casks in the mix.

Going by the colour I would say we are looking at mainly sherry or bourbon casks this time, but there appears to be some wine casks as well as there is a reddish tint to the colour.

This is a limited release of 12 000 bottles.

The Bruichladdich Black Art 07.1 goes on sale ion Norway on June 4 at NOK 2833 (1968501), or you can order it in the UK directly from the distillery at GBP 275.

Nose: Light and fruity. Wine like notes caress the nose. I find various fruit juices, red berries and a mild oakiness. With time also nuts and leather.

Taste: Rich and very much present in every sense. Nuts, muscat, vanilla, summer fruits, red berries. Earthy and tending towards dry in style.

Finish: Long finish. Flavours come in waves, and it keeps developing with time. Sweet fruitiness all the way. Spices in varying intensity. Sugary sweet.

Comment: Another delightful and potent potion from the wizards at Bruichladdich.
