Another fine release from independent bottler North Star Spirits. This Bunnahabhain 2009 11 YO, is a single cask release. It was distilled March 2009, matured in a single 1st fill Oloroso sherry butt, and bottled in October 2020. The cask yielded a total of 630 bottles.

Nose: Oooh, sugary sherry notes. Sweet, dried fruits. Juicy raisins and dates. Warm and comforting. With time also soft notes of toasted oak and earthy cinnamon.

Taste: Rich and full bodied. Peppery honey. Succulent and juicy raisins. In the background both oranges and soft maritime notes.

Finish: Long finish. Very well balanced. Mild notes of milk chocolate, oranges, dried fruits and vanilla ice cream.

Comment: This dram stole my heart.
