Cedar Ridge Distillery is located in Swisher, Iowa, USA. They started up in 2005, as the first licensed distillery in Iowa since Prohibition.

Nose: Mild and mellow. This is a bourbon that invites you to a closer sniff. With time it does open up a bit more and I detect vanilla, sweet corn and white pepper. Pineapple and hints of coconut.

Taste: Slim body. Caramel sauce, marshmallows and white pepper. Assorted tropical fruits.

Finish: Medium to short finish. Fizzy pepper and ginger. Creamy vanilla and milk chocolate.

Comment: A fine, if a bit boring, bourbon.
