More whisky from this year’s Special Releases by Diageo. Clynelish bottled at cask strength is usually a very pleasant experience, so let’s see how this plays out. This whisky has been finished in a combination of ex-PX and ex-Oloroso sherry casks.

You can pick up a bottle of the Clynelish 12 YO (Special Releases 2022) in Norway starting next week, at NOK 2200 (14979601).

Nose: Waxy apples and honey. Rich vanilla, with hints of citrus and oak.

Taste: Full bodied and then some. Seville oranges, honey and beeswax.

Finish: Medium to long finish. Ripe green apples as well now. The citrus notes have almost gone, but there’s a hint of lime zest. Remains waxy and rich, with medium sweetness.

Comment: Yeah, this works for me.
