The first release of the evening from the German independent bottler The Perfect Dram. It has been matured in a bourbon hogshead. This release was bottled in 2009 with an outturn of 240 bottles.

Nose (22/25): Quite close to the Duncan Taylor release in part 1. Apples and citrus, covered with simple syrup. Vanilla, smooth and nice.

Taste (21/25): Sweet and fruity. Waxy fruit - apples and pears. A hint of oak spices.

Finish (21/25): Pepper, apples, oak, creamy and soft. Medium long and warm. A bit salty on the finish - sea salt. Maybe a bit herbal.

Balance (21/25): Good

Score (85/100)

Clynelish 1982 27 YO The Perfect Dram, 55,1 %

The second bottling we have today from the independent bottler The Perfect Dram. It has been matured in a bourbon hogshead. It was bottled in 2010 with a total outturn was 256 bottles.

Nose (23/25): Very nice! Smooth and delicate, fruity (apples) and mild waxiness. Vanilla delight!

Taste (21/25): Super smooth. Waxy apples, oily, creamy, rich and full. Sweet with caramel swirls.

Finish (23/25): Soft sweetness, long finish, warm. Smooth. Honey and caramel with mild fruit flavors coat the palate.  very nice finish.

Balance (22/25): A very nice dram. Close to a 24 on the nose, it was that good - but it does miss that little extra on the taste, which it then certainly finds again on the finish!

Score (89/100)

SMWS 26.90 Elegant, subtle, balanced - in total harmony, 27 YO, 55,1 %

This is an independent bottling from the Scotch Malt Whisky Society. It has matured in a refill sherry butt. It was distilled in 1984-11-28, and bottled in 2012. The total outturn was 508 bottles.

Nose (23/25): Rich and fruity (apples and pears) - the apples are baked this time. Vanilla and icing sugar. A soft maltiness. Very appealing nose this.

Taste (23/25): Sugar and spice and everything nice! Baked apples covered in honey and creamy vanilla fudge.

Finish (22/25): Soft, delicate and lingering. Mild fruitiness mixed with the caramel, vanilla and icing sugar. A hint of herbs and grass on the finish.

Balance (22/25): A lovely dram, and actually the best one in this line-up.

Score (90/100)
