This is my first review of a whisky from English distillery Cotswolds. They were established in 2014, and I actually had the chance to visit them in 2018 during the World Whisky Forum.

So, here we have the Cotswolds 2015 Odyssey Barley Batch 03/2019. It is a young whisky at only 3 YO, and fully matured in 1st fill bourbon casks. There has been several batches released, the first ones distilled in 2014. The current batch 03/2019 had a total outturn of 6000 bottles.

Nose: A light and fresh nose greets me like a happy puppy. This starts off well! Vanilla, citrus and well.. more vanilla and citrus. Lemon meringue. With time more malty notes as well.

Taste: Medium body, textured and nice. Comes across as matured well beyond it’s actual age. Lemons and vanilla still. Creamy in character. Milk chocolate and black pepper.

Finish: Medium long finish. Very clean and crisp. A touch green added to the overall picture now.

Comment: Love the lemon meringue! Someone should start importing this stuff to Norway!
