Fary Lochan Port & Peat #01 (Virtuel Edition #06)

Fary Lochan Port & Peat #01 (Virtuel Edition #06), 7 YO, 60.9 %

Distilled 2015-12-31, and initially matured for 4 years and 9 months in a single 2nd fill ex-Islay bourbon hogshead. Finished for 2 years and 6 months in an ex-port wine cask. Bottled 2023-03-09, and limited to 277 bottles. Officially launched during an official online tasting.

Nose: A rich, slightly smoky aura opens the conversation. There's rhubarb and distinct earthiness taking the lead, making it all the more captivating. Let it breathe, and you'll be greeted by the scent of damp leaves, amplifying its earthy allure.

Taste: Bold and bursting with fruit. It's a bit wild on the tongue. Initial waves bring earthy rhubarb, wet leaves, and spicy cinnamon, mellowing into soft notes of vanilla, syrup, and tropical delights.

Finish: Lingering and luscious. Relish in the deep sweetness, creamy earthiness, with a hint of honey sweetness and a white pepper kick.

Comment: What a wild ride! I am left basking in pure contentment

Score: 88/100
