Glann ar Mor KornogIn the French region Brittany (Bretagne) there is a small distillery, calling themselves Glann ar Mor. The name is Breton, and translates to "By the Sea", which exactly where the distillery is located. They produce both unpeated and peated whisky. The unpeated is called simply Glann ar Mor, while the peated whisky is called Kornog ("The West Wind").

The Celtic Whisky Compagnie is the name of the owner. These industrious whisky lovers are now well underway with their plans to also open the 9th distillery on Islay, Gartbreck.

This whisky is unfortunately not available to buy in Norway (yet), but in Sweden you can buy this at SEK 795 (item number 85234).

Nose (22/25): Rich, full and creamy. Chocolate, caramel, and a fluffy and sweet smoke. Honey and mixed candy. Vanilla and grilled marshmallows.

Taste (21/25): Creamy and rich, just as the nose. Eucalyptus, dry smoke, ashes, pepper and some fruits.

Finish (21/25): Relatively dry. More ashes, mixed with various types of pepper. Slightly metallic. Right at the end there is a fruity finale - apples with cinnamon and caramelized sugar.

Balance (21/25): Glann ar Mor Kornog is a nice, late evening whisky with a bit of an attitude.

Score (85/100)
