The GlenAllachie 12 YO is part of the GlenAllachie core range. It is matured in a mix of Oloroso casks (usually puncheons), PX casks (usually puncheons), and virgin oak (usually American oak). There is mainly Oloroso casks in the mix and about equal amounts of the other two cask types.

You can buy the GlenAllachie 12 YO in Norway at NOK 760 (10462501), and in the UK at around GBP 41.

Nose: In a word - cool. Some leather, cinnamon, polish and earthy vanilla. Dried fruits and rich caramel. With time it turns more green - I get tomato plant in particular.

Taste: Medium body. Fizzy ginger, and assorted dried fruit. Peppery dried fruits, in fact. Some caramel.

Finish: Medium long finish. It remains fizzy on the finish. I pick up the same peppery notes and the same dried fruits as I did initially.

Comment: A fine Scotch!
