Glenfiddich 15 YO Solera

Glenfiddich 15 YO Solera Reserve, 40 %

This product was launched around 2008. It has been matured in American oak ex-bourbon casks, as well as European oak ex-sherry virgin. Thye whisky is then married in a huge Solera vat.

The Glenfiddich 15 YO Solera Reserve is available at NOK 730 (3224801) and GBP 45.

Nose: A bit deeper and darker than the 12 YO. Clearly more sherry influence here. Caramel, malt drops and even hints of camphor. With time sweeter and more fruity. More vanilla as well as honey.

Taste: Medium body. Black and white pepper, cinnamon, figs, caramel and nutmeg. Fairly dry in character.

Finish: Medium long finish. Dry notes of caramel, dried fruits and nuts.

Comment: I find this charming.
