This is a single cask edition from The Glenlivet. They release these from time to time. The Glenlivet 1994 19 YO Single Cask Edition was made available in Sweden late Autumn 2014. The selling price was SEK 2499, which is quite steep for a 19 YO. It is now sold out, at least in Sweden.

The whisky was distilled in 1994, and bottled on 2013-03-13. It was matured in 1st fill bourbon cask #3714, and total outturn was 225 bottles.

Nose (22/25): Nice sweetness. I must say I am partial to 1st fill bourbon. When it works, it really works! It is rich and full. Vanilla, eucalyptus and menthol. Bourbon sweetness all the way. Medium fruity and a bit floral. Nice nose overall.

Taste (21/25): Caramel, vanilla and summer fruits. That's about it really. Not all that much going on. I was expecting a bit more actually.

Finish (21/25): Long and soft. Very nice bourbon-feel, lots of vanilla and mild fruits. A bit floral and herbal.

Balance (21/25): A good dram, but I cannot fully grasp the price tag here. It does seem a bit over priced.
