Glenmorangie Tale Of Cake Bottle And 2 Packs On White MidRes.jpg

This whisky was initially matured in bourbon casks then it received a period of finishing in Tokaji Dessert Wine casks.

The Glenmorangie A Tale of Cake is already sold out in Norway, but you can find it in Sweden still at SEK 859 (4082301/).

Nose: Fresh, ripe apples and pears - sliced and diced. Add a drizzle of simple syrup, with a pinch of white pepper. Stir. Add some fresh mint. Stir some more. Pour into an oak cup, add a slice of pineapple, sprinkle with icing sugar and floral honey. Now serve. light the fireplace. Enjoy.

Taste: Medium body and creamy mouthfeel. Vanilla, white pepper and - oaky bitterness. Apples and pears again - but less prominent now. Hints of floral honey and nuts. Pineapple.

Finish: Medium long finish. White pepper, vanilla, pineapple and mint towards the finish line. Bubble gum right at the end.

Comment: I find the nose very appealing. It does - sort of - give a cake moment feeling. The palate does not quite live up to the promise of the nose, but it is a good pineapple whisky dram.

Score 86/100
