Today I want to present a single cask release from the Independent Bottler Samaroli. The Highland Park 1992 21 YO Coilltean Samaroli has been matured in an unspecified hogshead (cask #1245). The total outturn was 330 bottles.

You can still get the Highland Park 1992 21 YO Coilltean Samaroli in Norway at NOK 2422 (item number 1118201). It appears this whisky is not available in Sweden, they do have another 1992 21 YO HP from Samaroli though, with a slightly lower ABV and about the same price.

Nose (22/25): Light and fresh. Vanilla, citrus notes, lemon mousse, and heather. The peat smoke appears after a while, and it is rather soft - like a comforting blanket.

Taste (21/25): Oily and cool - a bit unusual. Heather honey, mild peat, and black pepper.

Finish (21/25): Ripe oranges rolled in cold ashes. There are some mild medicinal notes here, and it is a bit 'earthy'. Towards the end I find orange bitters and licorice caramel.

Balance (22/25): A whisky for a late Indian Summer afternoon, just as it starts cooling down for the evening.
