I continue exploring new kid on the Japanese whisky distillery block, Kanosuke Distillery. Having already tasted the new make, I now turn to the Kanosuke 8 months New Born!
This spirit drink was distilled in February 2018, and bottled in November 2018. It has been matured in white oak casks.
The Kanosuke 8 months New Born will go on sale in Norway staring May 8 this year at NOK 399 (1751604).
Nose: Smooth and malty. Creamy. Vanilla and hints of tropical fruits - banana, pineapple and honeydew melon.
Taste: Full bodied like a sumo. Rich and creamy on the palate. Vanilla and white pepper - presented in concentrated form.
Finish: Short to medium finish. The tropical fruits come through on the finish. A delightful little dance of pineapple, honeydew melon and mango. Right at the end I get a flash of Gin & Tonic, green notes with a slight bitter-ish touch. Lovely!
Comment: Again a great young spirit drink from Kanosuke. I will be delighted to follow their progress. Hurrah!
