The Kentucky Owl Takumi Edition is the result of a collaboration between John Rhea, Kentucky Owl’s master blender, and Yahisa Yusuke, master blender for Nagahama Distillery in Japan. The objective was to make a bourbon from a Japanese viewpoint.
This whisky is a combination of bourbon aged for 4, 5, 6 and 13 years.
The Kentucky Owl Takumi Edition goes on sale in Norway next week at NOK 1850 (18740501).
Nose: Softly floral with a hint of perfumed elegance, underpinned by corn sweetness that feels inviting and warm.
Taste: Full-bodied with a rich profile; spicy and peppery notes come forward, balanced by an abundant corn sweetness and subtle floral undertones.
Finish: Medium-long, becoming sweeter and gaining depth with caramel tones that add a touch of warmth.
Comment: Sweetness and spice.
