A Linkwood bottled by independent bottler Berry Bros & Rudd. Distilled 2010, matured for 14 years, initially in an unspecified and then finished in an ex-PX cask (cask #301241). Limited to 255 bottles. From the series A Single Cask Collection: Glens & Valleys.

Nose: Dried fruits, honey, and orange marmalade spread over blackened toast, with raisins and dried apricots. Over time, notes of white pepper and vanilla emerge.

Taste: Full-bodied, with a peppery and fiery kick up front. This mellows into a wave of fruitiness, almond paste, and pear compote.

Finish: Medium-long, leaning quite sweet throughout, almost bordering on artificial sweetness. Honey, demerara sugar, fruity hard candy, and a drop of menthol and mint linger at the end.

Comment: Sweet, bold, with an intriguing balance of fruit and spice.
