This is the 2022 edition of the annual Longrow 18 YO from Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown. This time around the Longrow 18 YO is matured exclusively in ex-sherry casks.

This whisky goes on sale in Norway this coming week at NOK 1589 (15444401).

Nose: I find this a little less peaty than the last few releases, but there certainly is some peaty smokiness here. Rich and warm notes of dried fruits, leather and sun-warmed sand.

Taste: Medium to full body. Creamy and rich. Caramel pudding, soot, leather and cigar box. A little dirty in character - which is very charming. Sugary sweetness.

Finish: Long finish. More dried fruits - in particular prunes and raisins. Deep and dark. Again soot and ashes. Hints of citrus in the background.

Comment: A true delight.
