Longrow 2002 17 YO Single Cask for Fourcroy

Longrow 2002 17 YO Single Cask for Fourcroy, 49.4 %

Distilled February 2002, matured in a single fresh ex-sherry hogshead, and bottled November 2019. The cask yielded a total of 264 bottles.

Not much else to tell really, except reveal my tasting notes.

Nose: Sweet, (funky) home Campbeltown! Dirty chocolate covered in sweet ashes and enveloped in a cloud of fruity smoke. Dirty orchard fruits as well. And wellies. And creamy vanilla and of course deep, warm, dark and rich sherry notes.

Taste: Full bodied, sweet, fruity and most definitely peaty. Oily and rich. Black and white pepper. Soot. Wood smoke. Leather and dirty oranges.

Finish: Long finish. Sugary sweet and dirty all the way. Engine oil, brine, malt, creamy vanilla, ripe fruit - all haphazardly thrown together, yet it works, and it does make a lot of sense to my senses.

Comment: This is pure (funky) class. Love it!

Score 90/100

Massive shout out to John Fredrik for the generous sample!

Sláinte!
