Nose: Fresh. Crisp. This is a dram with a spring in its step. Earthy with a rich sweetness as well. Sugary sweetness as well as deeper and more complex notes of fruity sweetness. With time ginger and pineapple flavored cotton candy and barbecued oranges. This - to me - is the definition of old school candy store - really brings back memories. Clutching my hard earned coin with a death grip as I point out the different candies to the white frock clad old gentleman behind the counter, hoping my magical round disc of metal will be enough to sample every - single - type - of - candy- in - the - entire - store!
Taste: Full bodied and very rich. Insistent spices slow dancing with orchard fruits, mild oakiness and earthy vanilla wall flowers left gaping.
Finish: Medium to long finish. Sweeter now. Earthy and softly edgy vanilla and cinnamon. Tropical fruits. White sugar and green herbs in the end.
Comment: Wow. Quoting Macduff from Macbeth out of context to describe this Macduff whisky: “Tongue nor heart cannot conceive nor name thee!”
