A product of Hombo Shuzo (Mars), produced at their two distilleries Tsunuki and Shinshu. Matured in primarily (exclusively?) ex-bourbon casks, at their Yakushima site. Limited to 12000 bottles.

The MARS The Y.A. #01 Blended Malt Whisky is available to buy in Norway at NOK 2000 (17476501).

Nose: Malt, toasted oak, and milk chocolate form a rich foundation. Honey and creamy vanilla follow, with a softly floral undertone. With time, notes of chocolate-covered dried pear and toasted oak add depth.

Taste: Full-bodied with a creamy and fruity profile. Honey and white pepper provide balance, while chocolate-covered banana foam candy offers a playful twist.

Finish: Medium-long, staying rich and creamy throughout. Alternating waves of chocolate milkshake and chocolate mousse leave a lasting impression.

Comment: Delightfully rich and indulgent.
