Milk & Honey Single Malt Classic
Milk & Honey Single Malt Classic, 3 YO, 46 %
This is the first proper single malt I have tasted from Israeli distillery Milk & Honey. I have previously reviewed one of the young malt releases (not yet whisky) from the same distillery (see Milk & Honey Triple Cask Young Single Malt).
Now for the Milk & Honey Single Malt Classic; it is an unpeated product that has been matured in a mix of refill bourbon barrels and red wine STR casks.
The Milk & Honey Single Malt Classic goes on sale in Norway on June 4 at NOK 689 (1754201).
Nose: It does come across as both young and unbalanced at first sniff. Lots of edges here, smoothness missing.
Taste: Medium body and quite sweet. Mixed spices and a soft oakiness. Vanilla and honey.
Finish: Medium to short finish. The sweetness is very fine now; deeper, richer. Nuts and honey in the end.
Comment: Young, but promising. And a whole lot better than the young malt I had tried previously.
