Myken Bådin Stout Intervention 2022

Myken Bådin Stout Intervention 2022, 4 YO, 47 %

Distilled November 2017 and January 2018. Initially matured in 1st fill ex-bourbon barrels for over 3 years, then finished for almost a year in ex-bourbon barrels that had previously held Myken single malt, then Bådin Myken Stout (stout from Bådin brewery). Bottled January 25, 2022. A total of 1850 bottles (500 ml). You can find all the “dirty” little secrets about this bottling here.

Myken have cooperated with the Bådin brewery once before, and released the Myken Bådin Stout Intervention 2020 in November 2020 (see review).

The Myken Bådin Stout Intervention 2022 is available in Norway at NOK 900 (14160702).

Nose: Chocolate and coffee. Creamy and rich in the nose. I can certainly pick up the influence from the stout cask finish.

Taste: Medium to full body. Creamy and sweet in character. Coffee and milk. Chocolate and toasted oak. Vanilla and almonds. Hints of citrus.

Finish: Medium long finish. Creamy still - coffee with lots of milk is what this reminds me of.

Comment: Coffee and milk - with a whisky twist!

Score 87/100
