Single Malt Dreams “Secret Speyside”

Single Malt Dreams “Secret Speyside”, 16 YO, 54.2%

Here’s a release from Single Malt Dreams (SMD) that I have simply forgotten to review. This whisky was bottled by SMD exclusively for Norsk Whiskyforbund, as their 8th bottling.

The Single Malt Dreams “Secret Speyside” was distilled in February 2006, and initially matured for 13 years in an ex-bourbon cask. It was then finished for three years in an ex-sherry hogshead, and bottled July 2022. Limited to 245 bottles.

Nose: Dust whispers mingle with orchard fruits, marshmallows lightly roasted in and served with a fruity Bardolino wine.

Taste: Full and soft, with a complex mix of dried and ripe fruits. Medium sweetness with a hint of oak.

Finish: Medium-long, featuring tempered fruitiness, red berry hints, and soft red wine echoes, with a smooth, chewy landing.

Comment: A secret I’ll keep.
