Today I’m reviewing an independent bottling from Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS) again.
The SMWS 46.72 Jungle Slippers is produced at Speyside distillery Glenlossie. It was distilled on 1992-11-16, and matured in a refill ex-bourbon hogshead. The total outturn was 275 bottles.
Nose: Fresh, tropical fruits, stacked in oak crates in a dusty old attic. A bit strange but very enticing. Oranges and vanilla. Grapefruit and grilled pineapple.
Taste: Full bodied and then some. Rich fruitiness - tropical fruits for sure. Vanilla and fizzy ginger.
Finish: Long finish. Gradually takes on a green and herbal character.
Comment: Delightful and perfectly balanced.
