The 2023 edition of the Springbank Local Barley is made exclusively using Belgravia barley from Glencraigs Farm near the distillery. This whisky has been matured for 13 years in a combination of 60% ex-bourbon casks and 40% ex-sherry casks. Distilled June 2010 and bottled December 2023. Limited to 8400 bottles.

The Springbank 13 YO Local Barley (2023) goes on sale in Norway next week at NOK 1585 (17498301).

Nose: Malty and full-bodied with prominent barley notes, reminiscent of barley juice and fresh cereal. Subtle hints of pencil shavings emerge over time.

Taste: Full and creamy, delivering a wealth of malty sweetness. The profile leans toward a drier character as it develops.

Finish: Medium-long, introducing a touch of white pepper and ending on a slightly herbal note.

Comment: A beautifully malty dram.
