Suntory Toki

Suntory Toki, NAS, 43 %

Here is fairly new product from Suntory, the Suntory Toki.

The name “toki” means time. This is a blended whisky composed of elements from Suntory's three distilleries: Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita. The Toki has a different composition to the other Suntory brand of blended whisky; the Hibiki. The main components of the Toki are Hakashu single malt and Chita grain whisky.

You can buy the Suntory Toki in Norway at NOK 520 (1524301), and in the UK at around GBP 30.

Nose: Mild, vanilla, strawberries, soft oakiness. mild citrus notes.

Taste: Medium body. Mild, vanilla, banana, apples, pineapple and grapefruit. Hints of citrus.

Finish: Medium long finish. More peppery now. Ginger. Fizzy. Waves of flavour now. Keeps changing. Alternating between sweet and spicy notes. Some oakiness, but very soft.

Comment: Easy drinking; and I can confirm it goes well in a highball.
