Teeling Single Pot Still Whiskey, NAS, 46 %

teeling-single-pot-still.png

This was actually the first core range whiskey product released by Teeling Distillery.

The official product info (see source) tells us that the mash bill for this product is 50 % malted barley and 50 % unmalted barley. It is a triple distilled whiskey matured in a combination of American virgin oak, ex-bourbon barrels and ex-sherry casks.

You can get the Teeling Single Pot Still Whiskey online at around GBP 50.

Nose: Tropical fruits, dried fruits and vanilla. Rich. Cut grass. With time a slightly darker side is revealed - cinnamon and leather. Mixed spices and green herbs.

Taste: Full bodied. Honey and a rich fruitiness. Creamy vanilla. Again a little spicy.

Finish: Medium long finish. Chocolate milk! Never had that association with a whiskey before. Still fruity - fresh fruit and dried fruit. Creamy vanilla. Hints of green herbs as well.

Comment: A delightful dram.
