Thy Single Malt

Thy Single Malt, NAS, 48%

The Thy single malt whisky is a single distilled whisky from Thy Distillery. They use a purifier to increase the reflux, and aim for a high estery and malt rich newmake. They are barely nerds (any cereal really). The Thy Single Malt is a core product, and based on the use of Odyssey (99%) and Babushka (1%) barley. The malt types used are pale malt (88%) and beechwood smoked malt (12%). The cask types used are ex-Oloroso and ex-PX sherry casks as well as ex-bourbon casks. This is a certified organic product.

See the official product page for more details.

The Thy Single Malt is available to buy direct from the distillery at DKK 549.

Nose: Malty and sweet upfront, with fresh, crisp, and clean aromas of apples and pears. Almost juicy in character - light and lively.

Taste: Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel. Malty and sugary at first, followed by vanilla, rich caramel, white pepper, and cinnamon. Hints of beechwood smokiness and toasted oak linger in the background.

Finish: Medium-long, with notes of dark chocolate, dried fruits, and a subtle green touch at the end.

Comment: Delightful!
