Tobermory 10 YO - on the left

Tobermory is an Islands distillery, located on the Isle of Mull. This distillery has the same owners as Bunnahabhain. The Tobermory core range has been re-launched over the past few years, and they are now all 46,3 % and un-chillfiltered (as Bunnahabhain).

The Tobermory 10 YO is not currently available in Norway, but you can get a bottle in Sweden at SEK 501 (item number 85341).

Nose (21/25): This is a summer whisky, with citrus and some mineral notes. With water it turns slightly sour, with the mineral notes taking charge. It is not sulphur, but something edgy and flinty.

Taste (21/25): Caramel and ginger. It is light and full-bodied at the same time. With water it becomes more creamy, with added honey sweetness.

Finish (20/25): Light and soft. Caramel, some mint, grass and herbs. The mineral notes from the nose are back, but subdued.

Balance (21/25): An OK dram served in a very nice location.

Score (83/100)
