Turntable Bittersweet Symphony

Turntable Bittersweet Symphony, NAS, 46%

Again a blended whisky from Turntable Spirits, with a very high malt content (81%) - see breakdown below. More details on the official product page. And again, as Turntable Spirits has such a strong link to music in their products, I’ll follow up with my view on what might have inspired the product name Bittersweet Symphony. Well, this one is easy - “Bitter Sweet Symphony” by The Verve. A true brit pop anthem - yay!

The Turntable Bittersweet Symphony will be available in Norway in a few days at NOK 885 (17301301).

Nose: Dominated by sherry notes, offering an array of dried and dark fruits such as raisins, dates, black currant, and prunes. Lighter notes of red berries appear, with hints of vanilla and chocolate emerging over time.

Taste: Full-bodied, introducing a mild, enticing bitterness that perfectly balances the deep fruity sweetness. The palate mirrors the nose with a rich mix of dried fruits and red berries, complemented by a soft bitter touch of rowan berries and orange marmalade.

Finish: Medium-long, maintaining the rich fruitiness with added chocolate notes as it fades.

Comment: Nicely done! The name fits perfectly.

Score 86/100
