Bottled for Brewdog and their Boilermaker Series. Made to be paired with BrewDog Punk IPA (hence the “boilermaker” name of the series). The Compass Box Transistor is available only in BrewDog’s UK bars and through the BrewDog UK online shop.

This blended whisky was bottled 2019-03-14., and limited to 5658 bottles. From the product page we find the following:

“The whisky is a blend of Cameronbridge grain with the following malts: Linkwood, Teaninich, Dailuaine and Clynelish. Mainly matured in 1st fill American oak barels, and also some French oak from the Vosges.”

Nose: Sweet and oaky, with a shy disposition. Notes of vanilla, coconut, and pencil shavings, with a whiff of citrus emerging over time.

Taste: Medium-bodied, predominantly sweet with a touch of oakiness. Honey and white pepper are the main flavors, complemented by hints of citrus.

Finish: Medium to short, featuring chunks of milk chocolate and scoops of vanilla ice cream generously drizzled with caramel sauce. A bit watery towards the end.

Comment: Sweet and indulgent.
