I still have a couple of cognacs to work through. Time now for the Vallein Tercinier Cognac Small batch. I will jump right to the official blurb on the product from Vallein Tercinier:

“This Double Single Cognac blend was especially created by the family Vallein Tercinier master blender to pleasantly surprise lovers of finest spirits.

Bottled at 46 % Vol. with a beautiful natural gold colour, non-chillfiltered to keep all the fine fruity aromas of this sweet marriage between selected old cask of exceptional 25 years old Cognac “Fins Bois” and 15 years old Cognac “Bons Bois”.

A few bottles of the Vallein Tercinier Cognac Small batch will come on sale in Norway on Friday June 21 at NOK 990 (11061401). You can also get it online in the UK at GBP 75 and in France at around € 87.

Nose: Light and fruity. More fruity than most cognacs I’ve tried. There’s both tropical fruits like bananas and hints of pineapple, as well as citrus like ripe oranges. I also detect light notes of caramel and almond paste.

Taste: Medium body and again lots of fruits. Follows the nose closely, but there’s also some added spices on the palate; mainly white pepper, ginger and nutmeg.

Finish: Medium to long finish. Brilliant notes of light caramel sauce and almond pudding. Still remnants of citrus in the back. Hints of oak.

Comment: Wow, what a treat. Highly drinkable!
