A 10 year old Westland is quite a milestone, and Stephen at Single Malt Dreams is the guy behind this particular independent bottling, This Westland has been matured in a single 1st fill ex-Tennessee whiskey barrel (cask #1115). Distilled May 2014 and bottled October 2024. Limited to 210 bottles.

The Westland Distillery 2014 10 YO (SMD) will be available to buy in Norway next week at NOK 1385 (18553801).

Nose: Soft and inviting, with notes of vanilla and orchard fruits. Over time, the vanilla deepens, joined by hints of unsalted peanuts.

Taste: Full-bodied and unexpectedly spicy, with a near-perfume-like quality that’s pleasantly intriguing.

Finish: Medium long, initially sharp before it mellows into sweet vanilla and caramel tones, echoing the nose.

Comment: Surprisingly dynamic.
