The Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt is a blended malt and was introduced as a core range product from Japanese producer Nikka in 2020. The component single malt whiskies in this product has been distilled at the Nikka distilleries Yoichi and Miyagikyo. This is a genuine Japanese whisky according to the new criteria introduced by the Japan Spirits & Liqueur Makers Association last year.

Nose: Honey, apricot, green apples and creamy vanilla. Hints of oak, malt and aniseed.

Taste: Medium body. Rather creamy in character. Ginger, aniseed and malt. Vanilla and dried apricot. Honey, green tea and a pinch of white pepper.

Finish: Medium long finish. Soft, sweet and fruity, with under tones that are a bit darker hinting at toasted oak and ashes.

Comment: A very solid blended malt.
