This is, as the name suggests, the third installment in the Explorers Series from Arran. The Arran 21 YO - Explorers Series Volume 3 - Kildonan & Pladda Island has been matured in a mix of sherry butts and puncheons, and then finished in ruby port casks.

The Arran 21 YO - Explorers Series Volume 3 - Kildonan & Pladda Island goes on sale in Norway this Monday at NOK 1830 (12435801).

Nose: Apples with a dusting of assorted spices, splashed with wine. Chocolate. Apricots and notes of citrus.

Taste: Full bodied. We’re off to a fiery start with ginger and black pepper,. This is only a flash wave though. Followed by sweet and fizzy ginger as well as creamy strawberry vanilla ice cream over warm apple pie.

Finish: Long finish, that is rich all the way. It is sweet as well, and fruity, and semi dark, complex and sooo balanced.

Comment: Lots of character, and same high standard as the previous release in the series - the Lochranza Castle.
