Here’s a Bruichladdich released exclusively for the Feis Ile 2023. Distilled 2004-12-01 and matured in a 1st fill ex-Port pipe (cask #1547). Limited to 1200 bottles.

Nose: Dirty strawberries and a soft oakiness form the base, with additional notes of red berries and hints of orchard fruits. Over time, an earthy hint reminiscent of dunnage warehouses emerges, alongside chocolate and oranges.

Taste: Full-bodied and a little rough, featuring abundant red berries and mild oakiness. The character is slightly dry, with nuances of wet leaves and sawdust intermingled with a juicy fruit cocktail.

Finish: Medium to long, introducing more chocolate, particularly dark chocolate. The dryness intensifies towards the end, culminating in notes of marzipan and toasted oak.

Comment: A complex and evolving experience.
