This is a release in the Bodega Series from independent bottler Goldfinch. Distilled December 2010, and limited to 395 bottles. Matured in a 1st fill ex-PX sherry cask.

The Caol Ila 2010 12 YO PX will be available in Norway from tomorrow, at NOK 1861 (16468201).

Nose: The introduction is dry, malty, and peaty. As the nose adapts, rich notes of dried fruits gently emerge in the background, setting a sweet contrast. Over time, an aromatic array of spices including pepper, cinnamon, and nutmeg unveils itself, alongside a smooth hint of dark chocolate.

Taste: Full-bodied, sweet, and delicious, akin to a rich dessert. The dominant flavor is dark chocolate filled with jam, paired harmoniously with peaty and smoky notes reminiscent of ashes. Almond milk lends a creamy texture, while white pepper and cinnamon add a subtle spicy kick, creating a balanced, indulgent palate.

Finish: The finish is long and continues the dessert-like theme. Dried fruits, and the rich duo of chocolate and jam take the spotlight once more. It morphs whimsically between chocolate milk and chocolate ice cream with a sprinkling of cacao powder. The finale is a sophisticated blend of cold-brewed coffee and Espresso Martini.
