The Oxford Artisan Distillery has created the new brand Fielden for their rye whisky. I have now had the chance to try their new product Fielden Rye Whisky. This is not just a rebranding, it is a new rye whisky product.

Fielden Rye Whisky is available to buy direct from the distillery at GBP 60. It will most likely be available to buy in Norway before the end of the year.

Nose: Strawberries dipped in chocolate fondue, with rich notes of red berries and a medley of strawberry and raspberry jam. Mild floral notes linger in the background, while warm peppery hints and toasted oak emerge over time.

Taste: Full-bodied and creamy, with pepper and red berries leading the way. The rich, creamy mouthfeel is complemented by a nutty profile — hazelnut and almond— paired with milk chocolate. It all comes together like the whisky equivalent of Toffifee.

Finish: Medium-long, featuring more peppery goodness, caramel sweetness, balanced nuttiness, and a final hint of mint.

Comment: Crikey! What a deucey! A rock-solid English rye.
