This is a Highland Park single malt whisky bottled exclusively for The Single Malt Shop. It was launched last year as the “Dublin Edition” at the same time as Highland Park’s own “London Edition”.

Distilled 2002, matured in a single refill butt (cask #900001), and bottled 2021. Limited to 513 bottles.

The Highland Park 18 YO Single Cask Series - Cask No. 900001 is exclusively available to buy from The Single Malt Shop at €194 (total cost shipped to Norway). Note that when it was launched last year the RSP for this whiskey was €447 (total cost shipped to Sweden).

Nose: Opens with rich aromas of orchard fruits and a distant hint of heather on fire. A decadent caramel and honey extravaganza unfolds, accompanied by heaps of creamy chocolate. Over time, solid notes of nuts and oak emerge, along with the scent of well-polished mahogany furniture—the kind you need a few friends to move.

Taste: Full-bodied and rich, with a dry upfront character. Dark chocolate, earthy cinnamon, and toasted oak take center stage, with hints of soot. The very dry, dark chocolate is the star of the show.

Finish: Long, with the dryness dissipating somewhat. The dark chocolate now features a heartwarming jam filling. Hints of soot and ashes linger, while softly floral and heathery notes emerge towards the end.
