Fuji Single Grain Japanese Whisky, NAS, 46%

Fuji Gotemba started production in 1973, and are currently the third largest whisky producer in Japan. This grain whisky is made from a mash bill of maize, rye, and malted barley.

Fuji Gotemba uses three different methods to produce their grain whisky:

“Fuji’s scotch-style grain whisky is made using continuous distillation, while the bourbon-style grain whisky is made using a beer column and doubler. The Canadian-style grain whisky is distilled with a batch distillation method in kettle and column stills.” (source: Whisky Advocate)

The Fuji Single Grain Japanese Whisky will be available to buy in a few days in Norway, at NOK 939 (19213101).

Nose: Mild, fruity, and inviting. Soft vanilla and fresh pears lead the way, gradually developing into a richer, more rounded sweetness with time. Light and approachable.

Taste: Full-bodied, rich, and deeply fruity. Ripe apples take center stage, bringing a juicy and slightly honeyed character. Smooth and well-balanced.

Finish: Long and consistent. More of the same luscious fruitiness, with honey adding warmth and a subtle sprinkle of white pepper providing a delicate spice.

Comment: Beautifully balanced and effortlessly enjoyable.
