For these limited releases the give the whiskey a second maturation in toasted barrels made from 24 month air-dried wood (American oak, of course). Nose: Dark, rich, and intense - in a very good way. Aromas of coffee, leather, caramel, and maple syrup emerge first, followed by warm spices and an abundance of toasted oak. With time, a surprising yet delightful whiff of citrus and barbecued pineapple appears.

Taste: Full-bodied and assertive. The palate delivers a wave of oaky spices, dark caramel, and bittersweet dark chocolate. There’s a warming ginger note, alongside hints of furniture polish that add an old-school charm. The richness is layered, yet it carries a slightly dry and tannic edge from the oak.

Finish: Long finish. The dark sweetness remains, with honey, caramel, and a bold peppery spice that slowly fades. More toasted (almost burnt) oak appears, adding depth and a touch of bitterness. A subtly floral note emerges toward the end, with cooling mint and burnt grass. The final flourish? Unsalted popcorn, slightly singed..
