A single cask release, distilled September 2008, matured in a Missouri Chinkapin oak cask, and bottled November 2023. Bottled exclusively for Viking Line, and limited to 260 bottles. This is, as far as I know, the oldest whisky released so far from Spirit of Hven.

Available to buy on the two Viking Line ships Gabriella and Cinderella at € 180.

Nose: Mild and elegant, with ripe red apples and almond paste setting the stage. Over time, strawberries drizzled in caramel sauce emerge, followed by subtle hints of coconut and milk chocolate.

Taste: Full-bodied and rich. The red apples return, now coated in floral honey. Oaky spices add warmth, while a gentle fizz introduces dried ginger and a refreshing hint of mint.

Finish: Medium to long. The sweetness lingers, but a greener, fresher side develops—cut grass and fresh herbs blend with oak and a touch of menthol.

Comment: Refined and well-balanced, evolving beautifully in the glass.
