Glen Elgin Peated Finish Cask Craft (Murray McDavid), NAS, 44.5 %

A new series from Murray McDavid, called Cask Craft. This whisky has been finished in ex-Islay hogsheads. Thus we have a slightly peated Glen Elgin; which is quite unusual.

This whisky goes on sale in Norway this coming week at NOK 709 (15434201).

Nose: Quite fruity - orchard fruits mainly. Mild pepper. Hints of peat smoke in the background. Some chocolate with time.

Taste: Medium to light body. Orchard fruits again. Creamy vanilla, butter, and hints of peat.

Finish: Medium to short finish. A little more peat now. Dark chocolate and leather.

Comment: Unusual, but OK.
