An old Glentauchers from independent bottler Single Malt Dreams. Exclusive to the Norwegian market, this whisky was distilled July 1997, matured in an ex-bourbon barrel, and bottled August 2022. Limited to 165 bottles.

Nose: Tropical fruits certainly dominate on initial approach - assorted citrus and ripe banana first and foremost. Delicate and soft - caramel and creamy vanilla. With time the tropical fruits keep developing - I now get barbecued pineapple and whiffs of grapefruit.

Taste: Full bodied and very rich. The fruitiness is front and center on the palate as well - a complex mix of tropical fruits, apples and pears. Almond milk and lemon flavored custard.

Finish: Very long finish. Almost buttery in character. Fruity and sweet. Ginger, lime zest, creamy vanilla, menthol and eucalyptus. Hints of dry oakiness in the end.

Comment: Ooh, a very lovely Glentauchers. Who’d a thunk it?!
