High Coast Solera Batch 04, 6 YO, 52.5%

Time does fly and here we have the fourth annual release of the Solera expression from Swedish distillery High Coast. Bottled late 2023, an limited to 1600 bottles. The first three batches were bottles at 56% ABV, while this one is a mellow 52.5%. All the Solara bottlings are matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and Swedish oak casks. The High Coast Solera Batch 04 is available to buy in Sweden at SEK 849 (50231).

Nose: Sweet and inviting, with honey and orchard fruits leading the way. Notes of vanilla, fudge, and white pepper.

Taste: Full-bodied and creamy, showcasing a rich medley of fruits—apples at the forefront, joined by pear and pineapple. Subtle hints of ginger and cinnamon provide a warming spice.

Finish: Medium long. The fruitiness persists, complemented by soft spices and a velvety touch of milk chocolate.

Comment: A balance of sweetness and spice.
